3rd Septemvriou

Back to where you came from. The same text in Greek.

{3ης Σεπτεμβρίου}. The 3rd Septemvriou ({Σεπτέμβριος} = September) street, not Gamma Septemvriou street as it is mistakenly referred to by many, was thus named in commemoration of the Greek uprising [Ioannis Makrigiannis] on September 3rd, 1843. The main demand of the uprising was that King Otto {Othon ~ Όθων} [People] should allow the people a Constitution ({Sindagma ~ Σύνταγμα} = constitution). Soldiers and Civilians swarmed into the area in front of the Palace which has been known as Sindagmatos ({Συντάγματος} = of the constitution) square [Place Names] ever since.
