Dimitrios Vikelas {Δημήτριος Βικέλας} (in the middle) and Baron Pierre de Coubertin (third from the right) [500 Drachmas] [Sevastopoulion School Of Labour] where the kingpins of the first International Olympic Committee. They both were movers and fervent supporters of the idea for the resurgence of the Olympic Games which took place in the Kallimarmaron Pan-Athenian Stadium [The Stadium], at Athens [Place Names], in 1896.

The ancient Olympic Games were abolished in 394 A.D. by the Byzantine Emperor [List of Emperors] Theodosius I (the Great).
