Back to where you came from. The same text in Greek.

Francois Maxim Raybaud (1795-1894). French military personage and philhellene who took part in the 1821 War of Independence. Raybaud left Marseille for Mesolongki {Μεσολόγγι} with Aleksandros Mavrokordatos [People] and some other European volunteers in June 1821.

In Greece he was known as Mavrokordatos' Adjutant and served in the General Command of the Regular Army. He found himself in Dimitrios Ipsilandis' [People] camp in Tripolis {Τρίπολις} during the final phase of the seige. He took part in Mavrokordatos' campaign in Ipiros {Ήπειρος}, returning to France after the Battle of Peta {Πέτα}.

Raybaud came back to Greece in 1825 escorting volunteers and supplies, again in 1826, and again in 1828, with the aim of setting up a printing press and publishing a newspaper. He set up his press in Patras {Patre ~ Πάτραι} after consulting Kapodistrias [People] and published the French language newspaper "Anatolian Post" {Tahidromos Tis Anatolis ~ Ταχυδρόμος Τής Ανατολής}.
