Back to where you came from. The same text in Greek.

Greek Women On Pindos {Πίνδος} Mountain (1940-1941) [Macedonia]. The help provided by the women of Pindos deserves to be remembered. They carried food and munitions on their shoulders along remote paths to the Greek fighting men, and carried back the wounded on the return journey.

The Battle of Pindos was a decisive one for the honour of the Greek Nation because it averted an Italian fascist occupation of the country and gave the Greeks the chance to take the initiative in operations. Furthermore, the Battle of Pindos dealt the so far unbeaten Axis its first blow and boosted the morale of the Allies for eventual victory.

On April 27th, 1941, Nazi Germans in armoured vehicles entered Athens [Place Names]. German military operations in Greece cost them 25,000 dead and took 55 days instead of the 5 days Hitler's command had originally calculated.
