Athinas {Αθηνάς} street, is the second street after Eolou {Αιόλου} street, which was paved when Athens became the capital of the new Hellenic State, in 1834. It was paved at the time of King Otto {Othon ~ Όθων} [People]. It was surfaced (asphalt pavement) in 1906 and has remained ever since the most commercial road of Athens. The old station of the electric railway [1834] could be found in Athinas street and at its entrace, in the old times, the Municipal Authorities of Athens used to welcome any officials visiting the city.
